Notes from the Field: January 2 2018

Happy new year! How new is it? I’ve got a book for sale! Its available exclusively through Amazon.com. Check it out, and I thank you for your support. Now, let’s do the numbers:

  • I sold at least one copy of Crossed Out: An Ana Lode Thriller, thus avoiding the shutout, and giving me the cred to call myself a professional (and published) author. Amazon/KDP takes a while to get their reporting together so for all I know I’m an overnight sensation. At my age, however, overnight sensation = charlie horse in my calf. @$%& I hate that!

  • Milestones of other sorts: Dead Shot: A Diane Pembrook Thriller has crossed the 40K mark, and Arbor, the prequel novella to both series mentioned previously has hit 10K. I figure Arbor will be complete in the 20K area, and Dead Shot should top out around 75K. The halfway mark of that book feels like the halfway point, so that’s a good thing, I suppose.

  • Not to beat this into the ground, but Arbor will only be available to email subscribers. Are you one? Want to be? Use the quick ‘n easy signup form at the top of this article, and thanks!

  • Our triumphant return to Disney World will be this coming weekend, and we are planning to hit Animal Kingdom. We haven’t been there in ages! Epcot tends to get the most visits thanks to their never ending parade of festivals. I am looking forward to the International Arts Festival later this month, though.

Here’s to a fantastic 2018! Enjoy your week.
